SD Voyager Magazine, which features entrepreneurs in the San Diego region, did a cool feature on Eternal Roots this month. It shares the story of how the custom documentary process began and how it evolved in the last two years.

Eternal Roots had a booth at RootsTech 2018 from Feb. 28 - March 3. This is an annual conference and expo for people who are passionate about genealogy.
I had way too many supplies and booth content to make air travel feasible, so I loaded up my car and drove from San Diego to Salt Lake City. In the winter. I'll publish a detailed summary of the expo on the Blog soon, but this was a fun opportunity to become acquainted with the genealogy community. Most of my interview clients struggle to recall their ancestry beyond their grandparents, but this crowd can proudly recall their heritage for hundreds of years. It was a great learning experience, I met a ton of people, had fun exploring the city and I would be happy to return next year. You can learn more about RootsTech here. |

Eternal Roots was hired as the official videographer for the first annual 1000 Speakers Academy Live in San Diego in October 2017. This is a 3-day conference with live presentations covering different angles on improving and monetizing your public speaking opportunities. I created promotional videos leading up to the event, and I recorded every speaker on stage. I created a series of sizzle videos for some of the speakers. Here is a sample.

The local TV station in the Laguna Woods community of Orange County invited me over for a live interview about the Eternal Roots origin story. The interviewer, Ken Goldberg, asked great questions about the process and the customer experience. I'm used to being the interviewer, so it's fun having the table turned and becoming the interview subject.

I was interviewed by Mandie Mutchie on her Bold Moves Podcast. She asked probing questions, had great follow up, and she's an engaging interviewer. I shared my backstory, showcased my products, and we had a lively discussion about personal development and overcoming fear to live boldly.

I am honored to be working with the San Diego County Bar Foundation in conjunction with its Distinguished Lawyer Memorial. This is an annual ceremony where distinguished attorneys who passed away the year prior are permanently inducted into the DLM exhibit at the County Courthouse. (Pictured.) I am creating memorial videos for each of the 6 attorneys being inducted, and have been interviewing family members, friends and colleagues. It's been an amazing experience. I will write a detailed article about it on the blog when I'm done.

I was introduced to podcaster Chris Ripka through Dave Daley. Chris is influential in the podcaster community and it took me a few months to book a show with Chris, but it was worth the wait. Chris wanted to discuss my story about how a psychic predicted - 19 years ago - that one day I would make documentaries about humanity. When I began sharing the story (at the 4:20 mark), the lights in my office went out, so I told the story in the dark. When I finished the story the lights came back on!

I was interviewed on the Positive Transformation Network podcast. I got to share the story about how this project began, and how it has evolved over time. Kellie Fitzgerald is a wonderful interviewer and I really felt at home on her show. There are some amazing interviews in the archives here. Kellie also publishes Pathe Magazine, and Eternal Roots will be featured in the next edition.
